How to Enable Key Repeat in OS X Lion
In Lion, pressing and holding a key (“long press”), will show a context menu with letter variations instead of repeating that key. Annoying. Here’s how to re-enable it.
How to enable Key Repeat in Mac OS X Lion:
- Fireup Terminal.app
- Now, just type the following command to set the boolean value to False for ApplePressAndHoldEnable event.
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false

My Favourite Google Reader Theme - Helvetireader
Google’s products aren’t too pretty, but there are some add-ons that can help. Helvetireader2 makes Google Reader look pretty, and removes some unnecessary stuff.

It helps to be familiar with Reader’s keyboard shortcuts. Hit “?” (Shift + /) while in Reader to bring up a list.
My Favourite Gmail Theme - Minimalist for Gmail
Gmail’s interface has a lot of clutter (Gmail invites anyone?!). This extension lets you choose what elements to display and what to turn off.

The extension looks nice with the “Minimalist” theme in Gmail, but will work with any theme.
